Monthly Challenge
How it works
A challenge is set each month.
The subject of the Monthly Challenge can be found on the Club Calendar page.
Entries for the challenge need to be displayed on the competition table on the due date. Each club member is given a wooden counter which they use to vote for the entry they think is best.
Points are awarded and the person with the most points accumulated over the year receives a small prize at the Christmas meeting.
Points are awarded as follows: 1st gets 4pts, 2nd gets 3pts, 3rd gets 2pts and every other entry gets 1pt. This way a person entering gets a point rather than getting nothing which is the same as someone who doesn't enter.
July 2023
The challenge was a Multi-Axis Form
There were just three entries.
1st Brian Wods
2nd David Booth
3rd Tony Harding
May 2023
The challenge for May (to be presented at meeting on 17th May) is a Bird Feeder.
April 2023
The challenge for April was "a form with added texture and or colour".
Four entries were received and we had some of the closest scoring I have known - only one vote separating all four entries. That meant the places were shared; two tied equal first with 5 votes and two tied equal third with 4 votes.
Alan Smith (multi-coloured bud vase) and Paul Ellis (beaded, ebonised and gold gilded bowl) shared first place and Tony Harding (ebonised platter with coloured leaves) and David Booth (Bowl with decorative features) shared third place.
Well done to everyone for taking part.
